Happy Sunday, and happy last month of the year! I can’t believe we are already here. Summer seemed to last forever, but months 10-12 always seem to vanish with a snap of the fingers.

This week’s mantra: Don’t stop at 90% complete.

I have a bad habit of starting a task, getting most of the way through, and then stopping right near the end.

Here’s a mundane but all-too-common example: When I’m doing dishes, I’ll wash and dry almost everything—but inexplicably leave one or two items in the sink to "finish later."

In my head, I justify it: “I’ve done a lot! I’ve made good progress!” But in reality, all I’ve done is ensure that the next time I enter the kitchen, I’m starting from behind.

I do this with bigger things, too. I’ll knock out 90% of a project, then decide to come back to finish the final details later. The problem is that "later" rarely comes easily. Instead, I end up with a dozen unfinished projects littered around me—a surefire recipe for burnout.

This week, ask yourself:
Do you have a habit of leaving the last 10% for "later"?

If so, let’s both make a commitment this week. Push through the resistance of that final mile. Don't leave your future self a mess to clean up—finish the job so you can move forward with a clean slate.

Until next week!
